MARC and STACY NILES
Mission Emphasis: Literacy training and evangelism among the Bara tribe of Madagascar. The Niles live in a mud hut with no running water, endure many illnesses, and work in the fields alongside their chosen tribe to learn their language, build relationships, and attempt to introduce them to the gospel. When an English speaking Malagasy language tutor visited their village for a while, they recorded some bible stories to share with the Bara.
Fun facts: Marc grew up in France as a “missionary kid” and Stacy grew up in Montana as a “farmer’s daughter”. They met at Nyack College, married in Montana in 2003 and graduated from Nyack in 2004
.
Birthdays: Marc-November 5 and Stacy-November 20
Prayer requests:
- Health for everyone on their team – both Marc and Stacy have had malaria and typhoid already;
- Help in learning the Malagasy language – especially the Bara form of grammar,
- God’s grace in building relationships with their neighbors,
- That their house holds up through the cyclone season
